Visual Effects Artist

Yellow Brick Games is hiring a Visual Effects Artist to join our team of experienced developers working on an exciting new project. In this role, you will use your experience and artistic eye to bring life to a world through designing and implementing stunning visual effects. You will work closely with the Art, Design, and Animation team to ensure the VFX match the artistic vision for our games.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Bring life and excitement to our games through design and implementation of stunning visual effects. 
  • Partner with the Art Director, to help create incredible real-time rendered visual effects which meet the vision for the gameplay experience.
  • Embrace our game development philosophy of putting people first and create stunning visual effects that brings an incredible experience for our players.
  • Work closely with Art, Design, and Animation to ensure VFX match the quality bar and artistic vision for our games.
  • Coordinate with Programmers and Technical Director to fix VFX related bugs, including performance and budget issues.
  • Help define and improve technical pipelines for VFX creation techniques/tools. 
  • Participate in research and development. 
REQUIREMENTS
  • At least one shipped title in the PC or Console space.
  • 5+ years experience as an VFXs artist on personal or professional projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Unreal engine and Niagara System.
  • Familiarities with Houdini.
  • Strong art skills, with a good notion of lighting.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills.
  • Self-starting, and actively able to identify problems and own fixes to them.
  • Strong sensibilities pertaining to real-time rendered VFX both technically and creatively.
  • Able to predict and commit to delivering work in a reasonable timeline.
  • Familiarity with agile production methodology.
  • Has a real desire to craft video games with fun, emergent gameplay and the ability to both inspire and create.  
Also looking for an
Audio Director

Yellow Brick Games is hiring an Audio Director to join our team of experienced developers working on an exciting new IP. In this role, you will define the audio tone and signature for our games in partnership with the Creative Director. You will work with and build an audio team composed of both internal and external sound designers and composers to breathe life into a new world.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set, define, and own the audio vision and pillars to support the overall game vision.
  • Design and implement dynamic audio assets/systems.
  • Help define and improve technical pipelines for SFX creation techniques/tools.
  • Record, edit, and archive original source material tailored for the game.
  • Edit, process, and implement VO.
  • Embrace our game development philosophy of putting people first and create stunning sound effects that brings an incredible experience for our players.
  • Work closely with Art, Design, Tech and Animation to reinforce and enhance game systems, content, and artistic direction.
  • Troubleshoot, fix, and identify audio bugs.
REQUIREMENTS
  • At least one shipped title in the PC or Console space.
  • 5+ years experience as an Audio Designer on personal or professional projects.
  • Demonstrable skill and knowledge in recording and manipulating audio.
  • Comfortable managing and directing other Audio Designers
  • Exceptional collaboration skills.
  • Self-starting, and actively able to identify problems and own fixes to them.
  • Able to predict and commit to delivering work in a reasonable timeline.
  • Familiarity with agile production methodology.
  • Knowledge of the Unreal engine a plus
  • Has a real desire to craft video games with fun, emergent gameplay and the ability to both inspire and create.
